Cathay Pacific Cargo handled 15 million covid-19 vaccines

In March 2021, Hong Kong International Airport’s (HKIA) cargo throughput saw a year-on-year increase of 4.9% to 397,000 t. Cargo handled over the first three months of 2021 rose 13% to 1.1 million t.

Also in March, the local airport authority jointly completed a pilot project on Iata’s “ONE record” digital initiative with Cathay Pacific Cargo and other members of the air cargo community to enable more efficient and accurate air cargo handling through digitalisation.

Cathay Pacific Cargo has meanwhile passed the milestone of shipping 15 million Covid-19 vaccines around the world. The landmark figure includes vaccines that have been imported for use in Cathay Pacific’s home hub, as well as supplies for distribution to countries including Mexico, Malaysia and Indonesia. (ah)
