Livo Logistics Completes Complex 127-Ton Transformer Transport

Livo Logistics, based in the Czech Republic, recently completed the multimodal transport of two 127-ton transformers from Plzen to the Port of Hamburg. The project once again showed the company’s ability to manage complex heavy-lift cargo with precision and care.

The route combined road and river transport. The transformers were first moved by specialized trailers from Plzen to the inland port of Lovosice. From there, they were transferred onto barges and shipped onward to Hamburg. This multimodal solution helped reduce pressure on road infrastructure and improved overall transport efficiency.

Projects of this size come with major challenges. Heavy cargo requires detailed route surveys, checks on bridge capacities and clearances, careful lifting operations, and close monitoring of river conditions. Each stage must be timed and coordinated with great accuracy to avoid delays and reduce risk.

According to Petr Naceradsky of Livo Logistics, “Strong local relationships, excellent coordination, and efficient communication were crucial for the successful execution.” That combination of local knowledge and operational control is central to the company’s approach.

Livo Logistics specializes in tailored multimodal solutions for complex project cargo. The successful delivery of these transformers highlights both the importance of expert planning and the company’s role in supporting critical infrastructure projects.
