How did you get started in the logistics industry, and what has your journey been like up to this point?

I completed my Master’s in Shipping & Logistics and secured a position through a campus interview in 2014. Over the past decade, working with my director, Mr. Krishnap Prem, has been an incredible learning journey. Our focus on Projects and Dry Bulk presented numerous challenges, but my extensive experience in handling such cargo has enabled me to successfully overcome them.

How does your company set itself apart from competitors in the logistics space?

I would always rate my company ahead when it comes to client experience, as the customized shipping solutions we offer are our major highlight. Beyond this, I can boldly say we stand apart from our competitors when it comes to Accessibility, Transparency, and providing cost-saving solutions.

What do you see as the biggest challenge in logistics today, and how do you think the industry is handling it?

The logistics sector is currently facing numerous challenges. For instance, piracy attacks and the Cold War-like tensions in the Red Sea have had a significant impact on the market. However, the biggest challenge I see is the breaking of the supply chain, which ultimately shrinks and closes the market rather than strengthening it.

It is a well-known fact that 90% of global trade happens via ocean, proving that 9 out of 10 countries rely on ocean trade for their survival. A healthy market is one where every player competes to win the race, not with strategies aimed at making others lose. Regardless of the situation, the shipping industry will always play a pivotal role in shaping the global economy.

How do you handle the pressure of meeting tight delivery deadlines and coordinating complex operations?

To be honest, these are the situations we thrive in because we are fully aware of our strengths. We consistently meet delivery deadlines by maintaining 24/7 tracking on all our shipments and staying proactive in all our activities. We ensure cost-effective solutions without taking advantage of such circumstances. This approach keeps us sharp and enables us to find solutions faster, especially during complex operations.

Who has been your biggest influence or mentor in your career, and what have you learned from them?

First, I would like to thank my family for understanding me and my job so well. On the professional front, I am truly grateful to Mr. Krishna, our Director, who always supports me in everything I execute. The most important quality I have learned from him is focus and patience—no matter the tough situation we are in, he crafts a way out with his expertise.
Another person I admire is my colleague, Mr. Thiyagarajan, the Sales Manager of our Chennai branch. His ability to remain composed is truly inspiring.

Is there a specific project or achievement in your career that you’re particularly proud of? Tell us about it.

There have been many memorable moments over the past decade, but I would like to share a recent one. On the project front, we successfully executed the shipment of 1028 MTS of heavyweight cargo, consisting of 4 pieces, each weighing 257 MTS.

A personal achievement I’m proud of is representing my company at our first overseas exhibition, showcasing our services at the ANTWERP XL event in Belgium in October 2024.

What’s one resource or feature within the network you think more members should take advantage of?

WhatsApp! Being a very personal communication channel, we suggest using it to showcase specific achievements of team members within their areas of specialization at regular intervals. This approach keeps everyone informed and engaged without being intrusive.

When you’re not focused on logistics, how do you like to unwind and enjoy your free time?

Family is always the first choice.. Friends are given equal importance too. Apart from that, outdoor sports are my strength.

If you had to describe your logistics journey using a movie title, what would it be?

“SCHINDLER’S LIST”
“ANNAMALAI” (TAMIL REGIONAL MOVIE)

Thank you, Yevanth, for sharing your valuable insights and experiences with us—it’s been a pleasure learning from your journey!
